Dr. Christos Panagiotakopoulos is a Professor Emeritus with the Division of Natural and Theoretical Sciences and Didactics, of the Department of Educational and Social Sciences at the University of Patras, Greece.

In the past (1/9/2014-5/10/2016) he was Vice Rector of Information & Communication Technologies at University of Patras, member of the board of the “Institute of Educational Policy” (22/6/2011-14/1/2013) and member of the board of the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus” (7/3/2012-15/1/2017).

He was Director of CETL – Computers and Educational Technology Lab (G.G. 2534/24.11.2015) [http://www.cetl.upatras.gr], Director of the post-graduate studies program of the Department “Sciences in Education” and Vice-President of the Department.

His research interest is focused on the Educational Technology and especially on the development and use of educational software, educational robotics, web technologies and open and distance learning.

Short CV:

Christos Panagiotakopoulos was born in Patras, where he completed his secondary education. He received his B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of Ioannina (1973-1978).
During 1979-1980, he completed his mandatory military service. Following, he was appointed in public secondary education where he taught Mathematics and Computer Science at several schools.
From 1989 to 1992, he was in charge of the Computer Laboratory at the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work, University of Patras and he was responsible for the completion of the students’ computer practicum.
He completed his doctoral dissertation from 1992 to 1997. The thesis of the dissertation was the comprehension of basic time concepts by 4 to 12 years old children using multimedia software, as well as conventional experimental apparatus.
From 1997 to early 2002, he worked at the Hellenic Open University (HOU). There, he trained in the field of Open and Distance Learning. Later, he coordinated the task of authoring books for the undergraduate program of studies in Computer Science. He was one of the 8 founding members of the Union of Cooperative Faculty of HOU who started the post-graduate program of studies in Open and Distance Learning, which he still participates in. He also contributed to the development of the electronic system for students enrolment at HOU and is in charge of the electronic selection process for the candidate students of HOU.
From 1998 to early 2002 (spring semesters of the academic years) he worked as Adjunct Professor at the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work, University of Patras, teaching the courses “Introduction to Computer Science and Data Processing I” and “Introduction to Computer Science and Data Processing II”.
During the academic year 2000-2001 he completed a year-long post-graduate program in “Adult Education” and during 2002-2003 the year-long post-graduate program “Child Development in Social Environment” both at HOU.
From 1998-99 to 2011-12 he has been teaching several courses on Education and Technology at the E. Papanoutsos In-Service Training Seminar (Didaskaleio) of Dept. of Primary Education, University of Patras.
He is the author of several books on education and computer science. He has published numerous articles in foreign and Greek journals and conference proceedings.
He participates in various research programs for multimedia educational software development in various roles as programer, program analyst and scientist-in-charge.
He is one of the founding members of the Committee Board of the “Hellenic Network of Open and Distance Learning” scientific society and served as its first elected Secretary. The purpose of the society “Hellenic Network of Open and Distance Learning” is to develop scientific research and promote novel applications of Distance Learning.
In 2002 he was elected to the rank of Assistant Professor, on 2009 he was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor and on 2015 he promoted to the rank of Professor at the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work, University of Patras, where he still works. His teaching duties include courses on computers and education, and the development, evaluation and use of educational software.
He was member of the board of the “Institute of Educational Policy” (22/6/2011 – 14/1/2013) and member of the board of the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus” (7/3/2012 – 15/1/2017).

This program produced multimedia software for students with special educational needs.

2. 1995-1997: Program PENED (General Secretariat of Research and Technology, Greece), Asst. Prof. Anna Iordanidou scientist in charge. Program title: “Registration, sorting, and processing of students’ written and oral speech and exercises in primary school language books using new technologies”. Research software development.

3. 1/9/1997-31/8/1999: Program LESEI (Langue Ecrite Scolaire des Enfants Immigres) within the framework Socrates-Comenius II. Coordinator Assistant Prof. Anna Iordanidou. The purpose of the program was the development of special research software for the categorization of language errors by students whose mother language differs from their national language. The software was developed for Italy and Spain, too.

4. 1/1/1998-31/12/2000: Program EPEAEK, Assoc. Prof V. Lampropoulou, scientist in charge. Program title: “Training Teachers and Special Scientists in Schools for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing students”. During the program, educational software for deaf children was developed. The software referred to the course of Language for the first grade in primary schools.

5. 1/1/1999-31/12/2000: Program TIDE, entitled EVIDENT, in cooperation with 8 EU partners, aimed at development educational material for the Deaf. Assoc. Prof V. Lampropoulou scientist in charge. During the program, educational software for deaf children was developed.

6. 1/1/2000-30/6/2001: PENED Program, Prof. P. Pintelas, Dept. of Mathematics, University of Patras, scientist in charge. Program Title: “X-Genitor: Integrated environment for the development of educational applications based on intelligent agents”.

Ιδέα

… Κι αμέσως, μετά τη δημιουργία της – μόλις τα μόρια του αιθέρα συνενώθηκαν για να δώσουν μια άϋλη ζωγραφιά, μια ξέθωρη θαμπή αναλαμπή και το λογικό έψαξε κάθε κρυφή πτυχή του, θέλοντας να δώσει ότι περισσότερο υπήρχε εκεί κρυμμένο – η κορύφωση!!!
Ξεπήδησε!…
Ξέφυγε με γλυκειά μανία, ίδιος τυφώνας – περήφανη, αγκαλιάζοντας κάθε γωνιά του ορίζοντα, χαϊδεύοντας κάθε κορυφή του.
Σε λίγο κυριάρχησε παντού, ίδιο κόκκινο φως ηλιοβασιλέματος στους γκρίζους βράχους.
Σίγουρη πια για τη δύναμή της σταμάτησε.
Στάμάτησε και κύταξε πίσω.
Κι αυτός;
Δεμένος πάντα με την ανθρώπινη μοίρα του πιστεύει ακόμα σε κάτι μεγάλο.

Γραμμές…

Όταν η αρμονία του Σύμπαντος γίνει μουσική,
όταν η αρμονία του Σύμπαντος δώσει πνοή στις μηχανές μας,
όταν η αρμονία του Σύμπαντος καθοδηγήσει τις πράξεις μας,
όταν η αρμονία του Σύμπαντος χωρέσει στην ψυχή μας,
τότε ακριβώς
οι γραμμές που χωρίζουν
το μηδέν απ’ το άπειρο, το ανθρώπινο απ’ το θείο
δε θα ’χουν λόγο ύπαρξης.

2013 – Εισαγωγή Στην Επιστήμη των Υπολογιστών

Φως!

Αν ψάξεις την αλήθεια θα συναντήσεις μόνο φως!
Φως σε κάθε μορφή του.
Καθαρό, μονοχρωματικό, ορατό, υπεριώδες, υπέρυθρο,
ύλη και ενέργεια, σωματίδιο και κύμα,
πνοή που διώχνει το σκοτάδι,
δύναμη που κινεί τις μηχανές μας!
Είναι το φως που αποτυπώνει τις σκέψεις μας,
που διατηρεί στο διηνεκές τα ψηφιακά κείμενά μας,
που μεταφέρει την πληροφορία μέσα από καλώδια,
που διαχέει στο σύμπαν τον ανθρώπινο πολιτισμό.
Αυτό είναι το φως, το αιώνιο φως!
Το φως που θα υπάρχει πάντα και σε κάθε διάσταση!

2013 – Εκπαιδευτικό Λογισμικό

Κώδικας!…

Συνδυασμός συμβόλων, γραμμάτων και αριθμών,
σύνολο χαρακτήρων που προσπαθεί να βάλει σε τάξη το χάος,
κατασκεύασμα που δίνει δύναμη στη σκέψη,
οντότητα που μετατρέπει σε πράξη τη λογική,
που επηρεάζει το συναίσθημα κι αλληλεπιδρά με το νου.
Αντικατοπτρίζει και αντικατοπτρίζεται στο πνεύμα μας,
στην εσωτερική εικόνα, σταστερεότυπα του εαυτού μας.
Άυλη νοητική δημιουργία, ευρηματικό τεχνούργημα,
μέσο αναζήτησης κι ατέλειωτης αυτονομίας.
Το δικό μας δημιούργημα!
Μέσο που ξέρει να φυλάσσει πολύ καλά τα λάθη μας,
τα κρύβει τέλεια όταν τα αναζητούμε
και μας εκδικείται όταν ξεχαστούμε
ή νομίσουμε ότι αγγίξαμε την τελειότητα!
Τόσο καλό, τόσο κακό, τόσο τέλειο,όσο εμείς!…

2003 – Το Εκπαιδευτικό Λογισμικό και η Αξιολόγησή του

Απέραντο λευκό

Συνήθισε να ζει μαζί της αδιαφορώντας για τους νόμους μας!
Σιγά-σιγά, στη σκέψη του δεν έμεινε χώρος για κάτι άλλο
και χωρίς να το καταλάβει πέρασε τα όρια.
Μπήκε στον κόσμο του Βίνερ, του Τιούριγκ, του Ασίμωφ,
μαγεμένος από το σιωπηλό, υπάκουο, σχεδόν τέλειο φέρσιμό της.
Μετά ήρθε, ναι, ο έρωτας…
Κι όταν βρέθηκε στο απέραντο λευκό, σ’ αυτόν τον άλλο κόσμο,
όταν έμαθε να ζει με τους νέους νόμους,
ακόμα κι αν το ήθελε, ήταν πολύ δύσκολο πλέον, να γυρίσει πίσω.
Ο δρόμος της επιστροφής χάθηκε σ’ ένα ατέρμονα βρόχο.
Όμως, καθόλου δεν τον ένοιαζε – η ευτυχία ήταν όλη δική του!
Εκεί μόνο μπορούσε, επιτέλους, να λειτουργεί όπως αυτή!

2008 – Οδηγός γρήγορης εκμάθησης Microsoft Windows και Microsoft Office

Πολιτισμός

Σύμβολα, γράμματα και αριθμοί… χαρακτήρες…
Πανανθρώπινος πολιτισμός, τόσο παλιός όσο κι ο άνθρωπος.
Οι κοσμογονικές αλλαγές δεν τον επηρέασαν,
ο νόμος της φθοράς, η αύξηση της αταξίας δεν τον άγγιξε.
Ο εχθρός χρόνος αντί να τον συρρικνώσει τον διεύρυνε.
Έγινε βάση τεχνουργημάτων μέσα από το φίλτρο της σκέψης,
πρόβαλε από τον καθρέφτη ως εικόνα της διανόησης.
Αγκάλιασε και στήριξε το νέο ψηφιακό κόσμο μας,
τρέχει μέσα στους αγωγούς που μας ενώνουν, διαχέεται παντού,
συστατικό μιας ταυτότητας για τον καθένα μας.
Ταξιδεύει στο σύμπαν, φτάνει σε όρια που φανταζόμαστε,
όμως δε θα δούμε, δε θα φτάσουμε ποτέ…
Ίσως, θα είναι το μόνο που θα απομείνει από τον άνθρωπο,
όταν αυτός κάποτε θα πάψει να υπάρχει…

2014 – Η εκπόνηση μιας Επιστημονικής Εργασίας με τη χρήστη των ΤΠΕ

Αναζήτηση…

Η φύση κρατά τα μυστικά της πολύ καλά κρυμμένα,
άδηλες σχέσεις, νόμους και κανόνες, συσχετισμούς και επιδράσεις.
Ανθρώπινη μοίρα, ν’ αναζητάς το γιατί όσο αναπνέεις,
το γιατί που σε ξεπερνά και υπερβαίνει τον πολιτισμό και τα πιστεύω σου.
Συνεχής αγώνας χωρίς όρια, πολλές φορές χωρίς αρχές,
χωρίς ορατό αντίπαλο, χωρίς διαχωριστικές γραμμές, χωρίς διάρκεια.
Κάθε λύση, κάθε απάντηση κι ένα ακόμα μεγαλύτερο γιατί.
Περνάς το λόφο μα αντί για πεδιάδα ξεπροβάλλει και πάλι το βουνό.
Σ’ ένα δρόμο δίχως τέλος, αναζητάς την άκρη, την αφετηρία για το επόμενο,
ψάχνοντας σ’ αυτό που βλέπεις, σ’ αυτό που φαντάζεσαι.
Καταλαβαίνεις λίγο-λίγο, ότι δεν θα δεις το φως…
Το μόνο που θα νιώσεις θα είναι η χαρά της μάχης,
μ’ αυτό που στο μυαλό σου δεν χωρά…
Μα παίρνεις κουράγιο απ’ τις αναλαμπές και ονειρεύεσαι,
προσπαθείς να καταλάβεις, προχωράς, προχωράς και μάχεσαι,
δίνεις συνεχώς μέχρι να παραδοθείς… να παραδόσεις τη σκυτάλη…
Τότε πραγματικά αισθάνεσαι,
ότι δεν υπάρχει τέλος, δεν υπάρχει αρχή,
μόνο η πορεία… και τα μεγάλα μυστικά…
Μπορείς να τα ανακαλύψεις όταν είσαι μέρος τους;

2018 – Η Ηθική στο Διαδίκτυο και το Ηλεκτρονικό Έγκλημα

Μηχανές

Έφτιαξες τις μηχανές να σε υπηρετούν!
Και μηχανές τις έβλεπες αιώνες τώρα,
άψυχα μέταλλα, υλικά χωρίς πνοή, με προβλεπόμενες κινήσεις.
Κάποτε αποφάσισες ότι πρέπει να σου μοιάσουν!
Τους έβαλες μέρος απ’ το σώμα σου, χωρίς τον νου,
όπως σ’ αυτούς που δούλευαν για σένα, χωρίς «γιατί» και «θέλω».
Τότε ακριβώς τις είδες με καμάρι,
και σκέφτηκες τη νίκη σου, κοιτάζοντας λοξά τον κόσμο.
Μα αν πρόσθετες και λίγο από τον νου!
Κι αυτό το επιχείρησες, μα σε κυρίεψε ο φόβος!
Μήπως δεν είναι πλέον μόνο μηχανές;
Και τότε σκέφτηκες να βάλεις τους κανόνες,
κανόνες προστασίας απ’ το κακό εγώ σου.
Είπες, για να μη σε βλάψουν,
κι εννοούσες για να μη σε μιμηθούν.
Πόσο χειρότερες νομίζεις ότι μπορούν να γίνουν από σένα;
