The post graduate program of the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work ‘Master In Education(ΦΕΚ 2916/τ. Β´/19-7-2018) provides a Postgraduate Diploma in Education – Master in Education. It aims at anyone who wants:

  • to know the field of education,
  • to get started in research in the field of education,
  • to deepen in one of the disciplines of education.

Master in Higher Education Policy: Theory and Praxis

The aim of this Interuniversity-Interdepartmental MSc is the postgraduate specialization and the deepening of the theoretical knowledge of new graduates or people working in various scientific fields on issues related, on the one hand, to higher education policy as an independent field of educational policy and to the sciences of education, and on the other hand, to higher education as a social institution and as a field of development and implementation of policies at regional, national, European and international level, as well as to the analysis of related issues on an interdisciplinary basis. In this context, the I.I.MSc aims to provide high quality postgraduate studies and thus to provide the appropriate skills that will enable postgraduate students to pursue research pathways in the field of higher education policy by continuing their studies at doctoral level with a view to becoming researchers/academics, as well as to engage professionally in the field of higher education in response to the ever-increasing needs of new institutions and new structures developed for the implementation of new higher education policies (e.g. government policy bodies such as Ministry of Education, Scholarships Foundation, etc., quality assurance and accreditation bodies (e.g. HAHA, National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance, etc.), educational planning bodies, corresponding innovative structures within higher education institutions, such as Quality Assurance Units, Employment and Career Structures, psychological support and guidance offices, etc.).

DOCTORAL STUDIES

The Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work organizes a program of doctoral studies utilizing the extensive experience of its members throughout the range of Educational Sciences and Social Work, with a focus on producing high quality scientific research based on the principles of ethics and accountability.
The Department also collaborates with other institutions at national and international level for the elaboration of doctorates under supervision, while promoting its wider academic and international recognition.
To complete the doctoral cycle, a number of research, writing, teaching and teaching activities are required as well as participation in international and national conferences.
The graduates of the doctoral programs are intended to strengthen the research, social, educational and business staff of the country and abroad.
