Welcome to the website of the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work at the University of Patras. Our department offers two advanced undergraduate programs: Teachers at Primary Education and Social Work. The selection of specialization is made in the third semester of studies, while the first two semesters are common in both directions.

Our graduates have full professional rights as primary school teachers and social workers, respectively.

Our department also offers interesting postgraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral studies.

The Department of Educational sciences and Social Work emerged from the renaming of the Department of Primary Education and its synergy with the Department of Social Work of TEI of Western Greece, according to the provisions of Law 4610/2019, (article 36, §2, paragraph 2.aa.). It accepted students for the first time during the academic year 2019-20.

The Evaluation and Accreditation Council (AAC) of the National Council for the Assessment and Accreditation, at its meeting of 28/17-03-2023, decided to grant Accreditation to the Undergraduate Programme of the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work of the University of Patras.
